Hurlbut Care Communities is celebrating the inclusion of artwork from two residents in the New York State Health Facilities Association/New York State Center for Assisted Living’s 2021 “Art from the Heart” wall calendar.
Patricia Arena, formerly of The Shore Winds Nursing & Rehabilitation and Joan French of Seneca Nursing & Rehabilitation Center will have their work featured along with 11 other nursing home and assisted living residents from across the state. Unfortunately, Patricia passed away this spring, and we received special permission from her brother to enter her in the contest posthumously.
The “Art from the Heart” Program was created to honor the contributions and creative spirit of residents living in long term care and assisted living in New York. This year 64 member facilities participated in submitting 87 submissions; the 13 selected pieces were chosen by representatives from the New York State Museum and a local Albany artist.
