Thanks for taking the time to read this first post on Conversations About Care.
I’m Robert W. Hurlbut, President of Hurlbut™ Care Communities, and in this blog I am going to do my best to provide objective information about nursing homes, long-term care, and short-term rehabilitation. These are areas we specialize in at the Hurlbut Care Communities, and because of this we’ve gained a great deal of knowledge. I’m going to bring this knowledge to your advantage in each post, based on my family’s almost 50 years of operating 12 Hurlbut facilities around greater Rochester and one in Boca Raton, Florida.
I also hope you will contribute questions and topics for these posts. To begin with, you can e-mail any questions or comments to me at HurlbutBlog@hurlbutcare.com. I look forward to receiving your ideas and gaining an even greater sense of what you consider important when selecting a nursing home, choosing a rehabilitation facility, considering various long-term care options, and any other critical questions and topics you’d like to know more about.
As I noted at the start of this post, my objective is to provide straightforward, unbiased answers and help you gain the knowledge you need to make the best choices. While I believe our Hurlbut Care Communities offer exceptional facilities and services and I will point out our advantages, I will not try to “sell you something.”
My next few posts will be about the questions you should ask when selecting a nursing home and the value of being proactive in this process. Thank you for your time and interest and I hope you’ll keep reading my periodic posts.
